‘The Shelf’ is a retail initiative by The Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market where vendor goods like food products, crafts and wines are sold. The goal was to create a brand mark that was bold and minimal in order to highlight the various types of products sold.

The brown in the colour palette was inspired by the wooden shelves being used in the store. It is also meant to echo the natural and local aspects of the products. I chose to stick with two primary colours and use black and white as secondary colours to maintain simplicity. The logo and colours are meant to embody the platform, not distract from the local producers being celebrated.

Marketing Collateral

I also created different stamps and stickers to be placed on shopping bags, gift boxes and other packaging. These stamps included the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market logo to connect it back to the parent brand.
